Cedar Valley Springs is an eighteen acre residential development adjacent to the Cedar Valley Golf course in the Caribbean island of Antigua. The development has sixty individual houses made up of four distinct designs types randomly placed throughout the site.
With exotic Caribbean / Antiguan names like Calypso, Darkwood, Hawksbill and Liberta representing each distinct design and with options to add car ports and swimming pools; each two-bathroom / three-bedroom house is unique. The 60 units are thoughtfully arranged along a series of roads so that no similar design type is positioned next to each other.
Each design boasts a separate kitchen and an open plan living room / dining room, leading onto a large verandah (often wrapping around two or three sides of the house). Traditional balustrade designs on each verandah compliment the intricate decorations on the verandah posts. Each kitchen has links to a utility room, and each master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom and a large walk-in closet. As there are no suspended ceilings in any of the houses; exposed timber rafters can be seen from each space within the units, and this reinforces the open plan rationale of the designs.
Every building is striking in appearance as the options for bright red, blue or green roof colours contrast against the light pastel colours of the walls giving a real tropical theme. Both the balustrade and the verandah posts too are brightly coloured – matching the roof colours and supporting the tropical theme. Views of the golf course, or out to the Caribbean Sea allow this development to be the envy of other neighbouring developments.
